Let's take a trip....

Well, me & hubby are thinking (well not thinking...going) to take a trip next spring once he gets back from deployment. We are debating on where to go. We both have never been on a cruise. We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon & loved it. But, we have also both wanted to go to Europe or even Africa. So, we are in limbo...whether to do an all inclusive resort to somewhere in the Caribbean or take a cruise & visit a few islands or do a European package or the African Safari. It would be wonderful if we could take a month & a half & visit all of these places. I would enjoy each!! It's a hard decision, but I'm sure we will nail it down lol.

So, if it were your choice...what would you choose????

The Ten Commandments (for wives)

Ten commandments for wives

1. Expect not thy husband to give thee as many luxuries as thy father hath given thee after many years of hard labor. (Phil 4:11; Amos 4:1)
2. Thou shalt work hard to build thy house with the husband that you have, not fantasizing about "the one that could have been". (Prov 14:1)
3. Thou shalt not nag...hit him with thine frying pan, it is kindlier. (Prov 27:15; 21:19)
4. Thou shalt coddle thy husband and be a warm wife. (1 Cor 7:3-5)
5. Remember that the frank approval of thy husband is more to thee than the side glances of many strangers. (Ezek 16:32; 2 Pet 2:14)
6. Thou shalt not yell at thy husband but will be a gentle and quiet spirit. (1 Pet 3:1-4)
7. Permit no one to assure thee that thou art having a hard time of it. (1 Pet 5:9)
8. Thou shall not fail to dress up for thy husband with an eye to please him, as thou didst before marriage. (Sos 4:9-11)
9. Thou shalt submit to thy husband from thy heart and allow him to be head of the household. (Col 3:18; 1 Pet 3:6; Eph 5:33)
10. Thou shalt assure thy husband and others that he is the greatest man alive. (Phil 2:3; Sos 5:9-16)

Today marks that we have been 200 days into this deployment!!!! We are at the 1/2 way mark of the "official" countdown. This makes me excited!!!! I hope the next 200 go by as quickly!!!! It's hard to believe it's been 200 days already! It seems like it should be in the 90's, but I'm so thankful it's not!!! Woohooo for 200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donut of Misery Update

So, my donut of misery has let me know..."Congratulations, you are over the hump"!!!!!!!!!!!! We only have 45.69% to go....woo hoo!!!! I'll be so glad when we are down to the nitty gritty. I absolutely love summer time, but at this point I've never been so ready for fall/winter than I am now!!!! But, the countdown only goes down one day at a time....so I'm back to marking off the days! I'll be here waiting until then, but hopefully things get better & time starts flying again!!! I'm ready for that:)

R&R

R&R was a blast. Me & hubby had such a wonderful time. Even though right to start with, nothing went as planned. Hubby had called me on Wed. saying he may be leaving out Thurs. am then of course that didn't happen, so then the plan was to leave Fri. am. Well, that didn't happen either, instead he left Fri. night, had a few delays & finally made some progress on Sat. Late Saturday night I received an email from hubby saying he was in Germany & should be in Atlanta by 9am on Sun. morning. So, Sunday morning came & I got dressed, the car packed, & hoping to make it to the hotel where we would be staying right near check in to decorate our room w/ a welcome home sign & banner. We were staying in a Jacuzzi suite so I wanted to go ahead and set the candles out & have some snacks waiting for us & all that jazz. But, at 12:30pm I got a phone call saying "Hey Babe, I'm in Charlotte. I fly out in just a few minutes, so start getting ready to head to the airport. Ok, love you. I gotta go." WHAT?!?!?! I was excited, but I hated I couldn't have everything ready. (Check in wasn't until 3pm) But, some things never go as planned. And, looking back I'm glad they didn't. Hubby later told me, he wasn't supposed to arrive home until 9pm that night but, luckily worked some of his magic & got the earlier flight. And that was a great plus being his time didn't start until midnight that night. So, I got to the airport - parked just as the plane was coming in to land. Crazy I know!!! I ran into the airport stopped by the bathroom to make sure I looked ok lol. Went to wait for just a few seconds...and there he was:) I was all smiles and so was he. It was such a wonderful moment to have him walk through those doors and wrap me in his arms & greet me with a kiss. So, we left the airport, went to visit his family for a few minutes & then we went straight to the hotel. One word: magical!!!!

Needless to say, hubby was extremely tired & I tried to give him as much rest as he needed. But, sometimes - I just had to wake him up lol!!!
After the first couple days, we loaded up and headed to Wilmington and spent a wonderful 4 days there. We went to the beach and poor hubby's fresh meat got a little more burnt than he had anticipated. But, it was such a beautiful day & we enjoyed it to the fullest.

We spent a day in downtown Wilmington where we shopped & walked the water front, ate at a delicious restaurant called "Elijah's", & went to the park. It felt so nice just be in my hubby's company all day and all night.

Then we came back home, so hubby could reunite with Charlie. It was hilarious. We went to my parents house & hubby walked in on Charlie laying on my bed & Charlie started pretty much wailing like he was being beat. (I think he was scared lol, so much for being a watch dog haha) Then hubby started just making the world over him & he knew who he was right away. These past few weeks, you could really tell Charlie missed hubby just as much as I did!
We also were able to celebrate July 4th while hubby was home. We had a big cookout with hubby's family & a few friends. It was such a nice day. I'm so glad we were able to celebrate at least one holiday while he was home. (He arrived home the day after his birthday, but we still celebrated that too:) )
We had plenty of time together & alot of date nights which were much needed. I had the time of my life while hubby was home. And, I'm pretty sure that's why it has been so hard since he left. I cherished R&R don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have traded it for anything. But, in a way its somewhat of a torture. Just when things get back to normal, the way they were supposed to be - he's packing up to leave again. But, we are in the short rows now & praying that this deployment will be shorter than we imagined. (Rumors are flying still) I'm trying to get back into my routine, hoping that will make things better & time start moving again. I can't wait for him to be back home for good!!!!
